What's New for the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer?

After a decade-long hiatus lasting throughout the 2010s, Chevrolet is keen to ensure its new generation Trailblazer continues to impress modern motorists. While its changes aren't as extensive as the mid-generation refresh of 2024, there's still plenty to get excited about in 2026. Take a closer look at the enhancements that make the new Chevrolet Trailblazer the best yet.

Design Updates and Technology

Chevrolet has refreshed the Trailblazer's exterior color palette for 2026. Crimson Metallic and Nitro Yellow Metallic have been retired to make way for the exciting new White Sands and Apex Red hues. All your favorite tech features like the large 11-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot make their return in 2026.

Engine Performance and Fuel Efficiency

The Chevrolet Trailblazer retains a standard turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder with a continuously variable transmission in 2026. Generating 137-hp, it's adequate for getting around Olympia's city streets, but if you want a bit more acceleration for keeping up with traffic on U.S. Route 101, you can opt for the 155-hp turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder with a 9-speed automatic box. A little extra power and a smoother transmission system help justify the expense.

Even though the engines are unchanged, they're still some of the most economical in the crossover class. The standard motor gets an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Urban driving economy falls to 29 mpg with the optional 1.3-liter motor, but it gets an improved 33 mpg on the highway. Optional all-wheel drive improves traction but reduces fuel economy by a few mpg.

Interior Comfort and Cargo Versatility

The Chevrolet Trailblazer interior is also unchanged, offering more space than you might expect before opening the doors. You can comfortably fit up to five people inside, although reducing your passengers helps you make use of its versatile cargo area. The rear and front passenger seats can both fold down if you need to transport large, bulky items.

Safety Features and Driver Assistance

The weight of a spare tire really impacts fuel economy, so Chevrolet has made the revolutionary step of making it optional for the 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer. You don't need to stress about flats, though, as Chevy adds a tire inflator kit for repairing minor punctures. Chevrolet offers the same standard driver assistance features, including lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection for safely moving through busy areas like the Capitol District and Percival Landing.
